    iPad Air 2 A1566 Unable to Activate Help!

    Hi

    I have an ipad, it gives a red screen error and restarts. I re-molded the U1600 and U1800 ICs and threw in the software. Ipad is working but I can't activate it. I changed serial wifi blt emac, I couldn't activate it again, (i did unwifi ) I re-sofware every step to make sure, could it be another hardware failure? I would appreciate it if you could help me if you have come across and solved it.

      What does iTunes report ?

              There is a good video from a tech in Malaysia that does exactly this in the youtube video..activates the iPad with some serial number service.

                  I have a different brand that does the same job, this device does not work.

                      If its prod date 2016, cant be activated. Go back to original serial and bypass only if its FMI On.

                          Using an ammeter, original battery was only taking 90mA or so... then down to 0, up to 90mA, down to 0, etc, in a repeatable pattern. This iPad was very old, so first thing I did was swap the battery for a good one, and it came pre-charged. The old battery had negligible voltage.

                          Now the iPad go up to about 1.5-1.6amps charge, then it drops to 0 after a few seconds... rinse/repeat as before. I tried changing the Tristar chip to see if that would help (and also my first real BGA chip!) but it seems to make no difference. Where should I look next?

                          I should poke around the...

                          A few Gen 3 iPads with differing charging issues (A1403, A1430, A1416) & iPad Air 2 (A1566)

                          I purchased some broken iPads (non-charging), trying to repair something a little trickier than retro consoles... I have all the necessary tools.

                          A1430 - Draws 930mA consistent, screen is black with red/empty battery icon, no charging symbol.
                          A1403 and A1416 - Draw 930mA, wait 3 seconds, dip to 0, repeat.
                          A1566 - Similar to the previous issue, it draws some power for a few seconds, then resets my ammeter, and repeats. Waiting for my lightning port tester to come to check the tristar.

                          Seeing as these are old, and likely have been dead for ages, is a battery...

                          Hello.

                          Working on an Apple iPad Pro 3rd Generation 12.9" that has a weird issue. When the display is NOT connected, the iPad will charge and power on normally. I know it's on because I can hear notification sounds and the charging notification sound.

                          If I connect a brand new display to the logic board, the iPad will not turn on at all. When I connect the iPad to an 18W wall charger and a USB-C ammeter, I can see that the iPad is attempting to charge, but constantly "resets" after just a moment or two.

                          iPad Air A1475 Boot loops after replacing battery

                          This iPad was working fine except the battery was not holding charge for more than 40 minutes. I replaced it with a new battery. I haven't glued the battery yet, just inserted it into the slot and held it with battery screw.

                          The iPad was powered on with the new battery and I am getting white screen with Apple logo for about 10 seconds, then the screen turns dark. It then cycles like this forever.

                          I know the battery is working because the iPad continues to boot loop without the charger until it depletes to 0% and the message displays I need to plug in the charger.
