Hello colleagues, I ask for help with an HP 15-ax205ns, with a DAG35DMBADO Rev board which only starts with the power supply and with a universal charger, but with the original charger nothing, the id light comes on but it does not start, and that's it I have tried it with another original from Hp and neither.

Re: HP 15-AX205NS, does not turn on with original charger
The voltage of AD_ID will vary based on the power (current) that can be supported by the external power adapter.
Your external lab power supply works but is based on a different AD_ID value. This higher AD_ID announces to the logic board that the power supply is capable of powering the logic board.
The lower AD_ID is not suitable so the logic board will remain off.
Check against the specs from the HP datasheet for this laptop, what is the recommended power adapter and compare to the one that you are using.
Either way, the AD_ID has to be higher to function.Comment

by flat-eartherThe charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.
Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.
This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.

by nikolayuI have Latitude 5420 that it's working fine on battery but when it's plugged on USB C charger it wont turn on.
Battery is charging fine. Also, if I connect the charger while laptop is on, everything is fine, it will charge.
The same thing if I connect to other USB C port.

by double_DDHi guys,
I do hope this is not off-topic.
I have this mentioned HP dock which is half-defective, as it sometimes work and sometimes not. But that's not my main issue at the moment.
I don't have any more original HP charger, and I would like to "fix" the dock so I can use it without it. Has anyone tried it, or maybe does someone know how to effectively bypass the "comm" pin of the charger?
Maybe someone has a schematic that would be useful? There are markings on the board that say P&Q 2019 CM-4 94V-0 E162264, but when I try searching... -

by m1ch43lzmHi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic... - Loading...
