    Acer 5100 errors out cant load os but can boot from cd...

    At post I get the following error message

    Bus:06 Device:02 Function:00 ERROR
    Resource Conflict - PCI in slot 03 Bus:06 Device:04 Function:00 through 04 individual messages of course.

    I removed only thing connected on that bus wireless card did not resolve the problem.

    Set bios defaults Problem not resolved

    Updated bios Problem not resolved

    Tried to install an OS with no luck.

    Ran bootable discs in DrDos without issues as well ...

    I am curious if anyone out there has found and fixed this issue before or maybe someone could tell me where and what to look for eg. common issues...

    Thank you folks out there for taking your time to at least read my post weather you divulge the info or have it to do so or not I realize that you are not getting paid to assist me at my every beckoning call but I do appreciate any help or direction I get on this form even if it is taking the simple time to read it that is still in my mind an attempt at improving my situation and done so without reward.

          This issue was mentioned on the site above however it was not resolved. This is not looking like a software issue at all but as HARD hardware failure. Was there anything done recently that brought on this problem? If so, reverse coarse. If not - motherboard.

              Known Issue: 3100/5100 Acer Motherboard

              Culprit: South Bridge

              Most Common Error Message: Error 200

              Conclusion: All PCI devices run through the south bridge of the motherboard.

              Action: Preform the same rework as done for an error 200.

                  damn.. so it's a flexing issue just like the infamous Thinkpad T40 - T43 had..

                      turned out it was the ATI chip on top of the board
