    Elitebook 8470p 3v line short?

If 3v line is short in output, injecting upto 2v/3A (PAD6100) shows on dc supply 1.0A consumption, but nothing heatup what could be the reason?
(Hp Elitebook 8470p board and processor was removed before injecting)

    Does the PCH get hot?
If you do not find the hot component, it is probably a small component.

Inject 3V freely, something must get hot after a while. Suspects are Q6100, Q6101 and U6100, but can be something else tbh.
I don't provide help for people using CH341A and a clip.

2v is small increase it gradually.

But first check if it is input or output short but lifting one side of the coil or removing the pad that connects that section.

Did any component burnt on the mb causing this short??

Sir, apparently no such component seems to be

Remove all power. Meter in lowest resistance scale.

What is the resistance to ground of this 3v scale?

                Where are you measuring exactly?

Resistance to ground is 1.5 ohm, and testing on output side of 3v line
                  Measuring on L6100 and PAD6100

You have a short on this power rail.

Lift up one leg of the inductor L6100. After one leg is lifted, measure the resistance to ground again @ PAD6100.

What is the resistance to ground ? We want to determine if the short is on the downstream (consumer) side or the producer (L6100, pin #2) = U6100 side.

Confirm also the resistance to ground @ L6100, pin # 2 = U6100 side after the inductor leg is lifted.
