    hp 850 g6 not powering on

    Hi all,

    MOBO model: 6050a3022501-mb-a01

    after measuring the coils on board, i have found 12v,5v,3.3v
    also have 3.35v on power button and orange light near dc in conn.

    how can i continue inspect that ?

      Check the basic requirement of SIO to begin with. Look for corrosion. Flash bios. These are the preliminary actions suggested.

          Thank you for your answer,

          I think the history of the laptop is liquid spill on key board but i found no corrosion on MOBO, also when connecting it to power adapter i see a slight/tiny heat point on the chip on the attached pic

          is there a guide on how to Check the basic requirement of SIO ?

          about bios i don't have the flash tool.

              I have another working laptop same model, if i take the bios chip and install on this one, it will be possible to understand if the issue is from bios ?

                  No. U need to make a backup from the working board and then clean me region of that backup and flash on the board you are working.Your SIO is BGA chip-so almost impossible to check.

                      A question please,

                      in order to back up the working one, do i must unsolder and read via programmer or its possible from within OS?

                      Also is the chip in the attached photo is the BIOS ?

                          Unsolder from laptop mb and read with Spi programmer. Its a 32MB Chip.

                              OK, finally i succeeded to read the bios and i have a file.

                                  But Laptop still does not power on, i can see its charging the battery but not powering on.

                                  any other suggestion? any idea? any direction?

                                      Perhaps SIO is bad as you mentioned its heating a bit. What is the resistance on 3V LDO??

                                              Schematic for this mb is not in my desk. Which 3V regulator is there on this board?? You can download the datasheet of this ic to findout 3V LDO pin.

                                                  The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
                                                  Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...

                                                  I have an Asus 2021 ROG Strix G17 G713 that is not powering on and not charging. Board number is G533-6050A3250201.
                                                  When plugged in, I found that the 3.3v/5v regulator was getting extremely hot, so I removed, next I found a short on the 3.3V rail. Removed the two 3.3v mosfets and found one of them shorted, but still the short on the rail did not clear. Then I injected voltage at that rail, and found out that U60400 the 2.5v rail was also getting hot. Removing it changed the short from 0 ohms to about 5-6 ohms, then I remove a bunch of other suspect components but that did...

                                                  I have an Acer Aspire A315-42 laptop. I generally leave it on for long time by closing down its lid (so it enters the sleep mode). Recently, it rained quite heavily in out area. And the humidity and moisture seem to be high. So one late evening, after I opened the lid and turned on the laptop, it did power on as the blue light turned on but after it booted to the desktop screen, just 5-10 seconds after both the screen and blue light went out and laptop shut down (the blue power light turned orange).                                                   I recently bought an ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING motherboard that was listed as "dead, not powering on." However, it does show some signs of life. I've performed several basic measurements and would like to share the results.
                                                  • The board enters a "ready to power on" state after plugging in the PSU.
                                                  • Pressing the power button increases power draw.
                                                  • Sometimes, touching the RSMRST_L pad with a multimeter probe causes the board to shut off and return to standby.

                                                  I'm working on a MacBook Pro A2442 (14", 2021) that's not powering on. On two out of three USB-C ports, I get 5V and the current briefly ramps up to around 0.210A before dropping to 0.036A. On the third port (JF600), I only get 0.0045A and it stays there.

                                                  Initially, I suspected a faulty CD3217 on that port, especially since I noticed signs of previous liquid damage near the JF600 USB connector. I replaced the CD3217 with an UF400 (from an A2442 donor board from the same location). According to the supplier, this should be a compatible version, but the behavior...
