I have faroe_dis_x32_mb_mv laptop motherboard. Problem is battery not charging. Have replaced charging ic bq24780s and tried new battery. Both old and new battery shows 0v backup.

hey!
1) review the datasheet from TI for this charger IC.
2) the logic board will be a 99% clone of the reference schematic.
3) then study the battery mosfet. With NO power - confirm the resistance of this mosfet (see the many posts from myself and others) - you are checking for a low resistance across the mosfet pins = defective mosfet and needs to be replaced.
4) Do check the HIGH SIDE / LOW SIDE mosfets that are feeding the battery charge pins.
5) Next, confirm with the adapter of the voltage that is at the battery pin. What do you see ?
6) Do note, as we have seen it here before, the CURRENT sense resistor and circuit on this charger IC. The case took 3 weeks to solve but there was a broken PCB trace from the current sense resistor TO the charger IC. This caused the charger IC to believe too much current being drawn and forcing the rail to sink to 0 volts => shut down the charging leg of the IC !!
Check without power, the resistance from each side of the current resistor TO the respective pin on the charger IC. The readings should be ~0 ohms.

My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?
Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?
My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.

The charging indicator light on my ASUS X54H laptop is always on even when the charger is disconnected.
Windows also shows ''Plugged in'' when charger is not connected.
This problem started year ago gradually, when unplugging the charger the charging light took several seconds to disappear, then minutes, and now almost always on even when unplugged for an entire day.
Strangely, before sometimes immediately when plugging in the charger the charging light went away, and later came back with it connected.

The Bauer power tool battery charger just has to many issues with the charger over heating because I several HERCULES Hercules battery chargers that are 3 amp charge and because they have gone on quite a few times over the years before they came out with the fan cooling battery charger I going to modify one so I can charge Bauer battery packs faster than the crape battery charger that they have

Hi everyone,
I have been working on a no power issue with my personal ASUS gaming laptop. It went dead a few months ago.
Some history:
Since then, I've found a blown mosfet on the GPU line which I replaced. It started up without a battery, then when I added the battery back it wouldn't start up again.
As a result, there were some blown components around the BQ chip. (The BQ chip itself - BQ24780S, the low side battery mosfet (shorted), and a resistor -> all replaced)
Now, with a new battery the system will start up and run off...
