Asus ROG G731 Unknown devices in device manager

Hello, after a fresh Win10 install I have some devices in dev manager which I have no clue how to resolve.
I already tried Intel ME driver and also Intel chipset updater and they report device and drivers up to date.
Tried manufacturer website for modellspecific drivers and installed what was available but no luck.

    Its an Asus ROG G731

Have you tried the Asus driver package for this target box ?

    Try:

    https://rog.asus.com/laptops/rog-str...pdesk_download

Select your model and download & install the driver package. These will most likely be Asus specific pieces of hardware and each requires the signed drivers from Asus.

Thanks, but that is one of things I already tried.
As far as I can see, there is not a package, you have to download and install a bunch of stuff.
I downloaded / installed it all and also tried to update drivers pointing to the libs I downloaded, with all the same error messages. Windows cannot find the drivers.

For each such yellow marked device -> enter the Device Manager -> Properties -> Details.

Then use the PULL DOWN menu -> scroll to Hardware IDs.

Share the details of the Hardware IDs. This field defines the Vendor & Device ID for the unknown widget.

If the ID = 8086 -> this is INTEL.

Respectively, each registered vendor has their own Hardware ID.

Post more details. Asus must offer the driver package but more details will help to resolve each unknown device.

Thanks again mon2, obviously the driver list at Asus site were able to expand so it seems I found the appropriate drivers and the yellow stuff is gone.

So many times on different PCs I have had issues with yellow stuff in device manager. its really a mess sometimes to find the correct drivers.

Re: Unknown devices in device manager

One trick that has worked very well for us repeatedly is to review the Hardware & Device IDs and then search out Google for that ID. We have over a 1M of our hardware products in the field and get constantly stung supporting devices that are not linked to us at all. Out of courtesy, we support the clients and Teamviewer works very well for us but try the Hardware ID for such cases. It is best to use the computer manufacturer's drivers first but if they have abondoned the unit, then use the semiconductor IDs as the Plan B.
