vaio flip SVF14N ,I need to know this part

    Hi,

I opened a sony vaio flip SVF14N because it has no power and when checking the power jack i am able to see 19V.

I am wondering if this part is a fuse or not. Kindly let me know.
It has a marking of BX 31ZL with big F but i am not so sure about it.

    Really appreciate your help.

If it is indeed a fuse kindly provide me the specs.

    Thanks

Its made by littlefuse (capital L with a capital F inside) .Not sure what it is yet, could be a TVS diode.

Edit: littlefuse SMAJ22A ,marking BX https://www.littelfuse.com/media?res...smaj-datasheet

Thanks for your very accurate reply, indeed it is a diode.. i tried to take this part out and found a marking underneath it as a diode hence i tested and re-soldered it back because it was working fine. I also tested all the fuses i could find on both sides of the motherboard and all are good.

On the other hand, I just cleaned the thermal paste which became crappy and could short out some parts since it was scattered on the processor out to the PCB. I then replaced with a small amount of arctic silver and also tried to clean all the motherboard parts.

I was amazed it booted normally and was charging normally.

What went wrong, still i cannot explain it. I was really surprised it boots up and run normally.

I still dont know what caused the NO POWER, NOT CHARGING issue. but i guessed cleaning solved the problem. Switched on my laptop for the whole night and already get 100% batt.
