hello bro, I have a lenovo ideapad 120s with the engine running but the screen is dark, it happened after a software update and then the battery ran out, after I turned it on again suddenly the machine turned on but the screen was dark.

Did you try bios reset. Remove bios battery short the tw pins voor 5 seconds and try. Also try capslock test with external keyboard see capslock led lights up when you toggle.

If your laptop was pushing a BIOS update the one time you lost power during the process would be suuuuper unlucky.

If you havent already tried, connect the HDMI output to an external monitor or TV and see if it gives a signal. It will either show up immediately and you will see the the POST logo or it will take a min an appear at windows login. If you are getting the picture then you most likely have a bad screen or screen cable connector.

If that shows nothing then its possible your cpu/gpu has gone (which isnt good), you have some other component on the board (which can potentially be replaced at a computer repair shop that does board repair, or you have a bad RAM module. Try what easy first and switch out the RAM with another compatible stick if you have one available to see if that makes it boot. Also try removing the battery and running off adapter power only. Also keep in mind too that if some laptops lose battery power for a few min they will power cycle upon their next boot, so it may seem like the screen if unresposive but if you wait it will show up eventually. Good luck!

does capslock light up on external keyboard ? If not you can try make flash bios with your serial number on the lenovo website. If that doesnt work you must program your bios with external programmer. Best you can do remove the bios chip and program it and solder back the bios. For that you need fo request on bios section with full motherboard number. Good luck
