    HP ProBook 640 G4

    Hello,

I have a HP ProBook 640 G4 that powers on with fan at full blast, but no display.
Upon checking voltages, there are 3 main rails that powers the CPU shorted to ground (check photo attached).
The 12v is present before them.
Can anyone point me to what is the cause of the short?
Been chasing it for the last few days and I am almost at the point of giving up.
Hope you can understand anything from the picture.

The laptop is the i5-8th gen version.

If anymore info is needed, feel free to leave a reply as I will answer straight away.

    Thank you in advance.

Nope, thats not likely shorted. What is the resistance on those coils in Ohms?? Remember, Newer onboard cpu's have very low resistance. Dont measure in diode/buzzer mode.

Could be a BIOS issue. Post your bios dump in the BIOS section and request a clean ME.

I have found a version online for the BIOS, but there is no difference from the old one to the new one.
Powers on, no display, fan at full blast.

Will make a new thread on BIOS requests with the old BIOS and the one used.
