DELL 5521 LA-9101P REV1.0 No display with 8 Beeps.

So it's a graphic issue !!...i change screen/cable still 8 beeps
I convert it to Uma and still 8 beeps !

Amp taken 0.729 , all voltages are present

PL 200 = 3.3 Valw
Pl 201 = 5 Valw
Pl 500 = 1.08v
Pl 300 = 1.5
pjp401 = 1.8 ( +1.8VS)

Pl 701 = 0.800
Pl 600 = 0.830 (+VCCSAP )
Pl 800 = 0.863
Pl 803 = 0.950

3/5 VS are present
+3V PCH are present
QC3 = 1.5v ( CPU_VDDQ)
uz1 = 1.5v ( 1.5VS)

PLT_RST# = 3.3v

I notice that when i power on the laptop there's a backlight at the screen , but no picture/logo/texte ...i have this same issue with R12 !!

Any other ideas / measurements to check !!

Amp taken 0.729A-is this on UMA mode?? If so it indicates problem in ram detection. Check ram requirement thoroughly. I've boardview of this mb. If you dont have i can post it to make things easier for you. The consumption on working mb should'nt exceed 0.550A. Your power supply shows proper variation on switch on-most likely no. It perhaps go straight to 0.700A with slight variation. Give feedback.

The amp taken is on discreet mode , since i find same behaviour so i turn it again on discreet mode.

When i power on , the amp taken make a variation , until 0.850 amp than be stable at 0.730.

I have a boarderview of La 9104P , i think the same.

so what to check else!

LVDS voltages :

Pin24/25 = +LCDVDD = 3.38v
Pin 26 = +3VS = 3.3v
Pin36 = INV_PWM = 3.4v
Pin 37 = DISPOFF# = 3.15v
Pin 39/40 = +INV_PWR_SRC = 19v

All this pins have 3.4v

Strange one , same behaviour ...like piernov said : confirm if laptop is completing POST or not !

After conversion and the issue persist , so it's not a graphic one...

Consumption is more or less ok on discrete mode.No point measuring LVDS pins as mb is not posting. What about PL700?? Have you checked powergood of all pwm's?? Bios flashed??If flashed, reflash with other similar chip again. Btw, what is the offline consumption on your dc?? Ram requirement checked thoroughly??

PL700!! why i did it measure it before ! = 0V
PQ700 is good with diode mode , PQ 702/703 Are open ( diode mode , D and S ).

the offline consumption on my dc = 0.00 , i know must be at least 0.01..but now variation .

Ram slot voltages =

Pin 199 = 3v
Pin 204 = +0.75VS
Pin 126 = +VREF_CA = 0.75v
Pin 75 = VDD = 1.5v
Pin 30= DDR3_DRAMRST# = 1.5v
Pin 200 = PCH_SMBDATA = 3.4v
Pin 202 = PCH_SMBCLK = 3.4v

Bios flashed with a good known dump

I will check the powergood of all pwm's , and change bios chip and update

powergood voltages =

Pu800 = pin 1 = 3.43v
Pu700 = pin15 = 3.3v
Pu500 = pin 1 = 3.0v
Pu200 = pin 23 = 5V

+VCCA_LVDS = RH185 pad = 3v
+VCCTX_LVDS = LH2 = 1.8v

Put probe on Pl700 before switch on and then turn on and see if voltage rises for a very short time. Your dc is 3 or 4 digit?? On 4 digit dc, consumption should be 0.004-0.006 offline.

Your AMPMETER is not good enough to read consumption in mA. Will suggest to invest in a 4digit DC. You didnt answered my PL700 Reading question.

Locate QH2 and remove it. Just jumper pin 1-6 & Pin 3-4 and see if it makes any difference. Leave PIn 2/5 untouched.

I had a 4 digit at my office and the consumption is 0.002.

about PL700 :

OK , 3 digit .
when i turn on 0.000v for 5 secondes than 0.400..0.800..and back to 0.000

Ram slot =
Pin 1 = 0.769v
Pin 116 = 77mv
Pin 120 = 65mv

Locate HQ2 and do what you ask for but still the same behaviour , only backlight no text/picture and 8 beeps

I'm still confused with your offline dc supply reading. You wrote 0.000V for 5 secs and then 0.400..0.800 and back to 0.000. I beleive you mean 0.000 to 0.004 .... 0.008...0.000. Why consumption will fall back to 0.000?? I think the whole confusion is coz of your reading on 3 digit dc supply.

Please clarify. However, if offline consumption is fluctuating the way you have mentioned and drops to zero, then you have problem in +19V line itself.

NO my friend ( 0.000V for 5 secs and then 0.400..0.800 and back to 0.000) this is Pl700 reading when turn on , the voltage that rises for a very short time....with my multimetere.

Oh sorry, i misunderstood. Pl700 behaviour is perfect. The reading proves you dont have any problem in GFX Core. So your dc consumption is 0.002-correct?? That's low in my opinion. This mb should consume minimum 0.004-0.008. I'll suggest if i get any idea.
