    asus N76V dead

This asus laptop start to hang after a couple minutes in Windows and now finally died completely. After taking out the MB and connecting an HDMI display it booted straight into the legacy bios w/o keyboard. After connecting an usb keyb and some minutes browsing the bios the fan went on (slow). Then I tried again with an SSD connected, but no more luck this time, no screen anymore. Still the leds on the MB and also fan are on. All voltage looks OK 1V 3.3V 5V.
I suspect bios chip but can't localise it? Or maybe the Nvidia graphics chip?
Any tips or schematics would be helpfull.

Yes of course, here are top and bottom photo. I marked the measured voltages in red. There is about 10% difference in voltage depending which of the 2 connectors I probe. The values are the highest I measured.
Any idea where the bios is?

The chip located between fan and nvidea seems to be bios ic.

            Many thanks for the upload.
I had a look at the files, the Repair Guide has these interesting test point to measure. So for +DGPU-PWR-EN I measure 0V!
            also OV for VGFX-PWRGD.
So it looks like the power fort the GPU is down.
The repair shows on page 1 refrences tp p80 p82,... but it is only 5 pages long? Is that incomplete?

I can open the ASC files boardview, but I don't understand why there a 5 files? Format, Nails, Net, Pin, Parts. Other boardviews I used were only 1 file.

So now I like to have look at the GPU pwer circuit but I don't have a schematic.
I'll have a try with the boardview.

I'm wondering if this mainboard can disable the discrete GPU somehow and use the cpu build-in graphic?

              Re: asus N76V dead

follow up for others having this laptop; this asus laptop can't properly boot without the lcd attached! With only an ext HDMI screen, I only could get in the bios, but no boot from SSD.
Also if you have a BSOD: Video Scheduler Internal Error install nvidia drivers form the nvidia site, not Windows update. Try to disable the video card in device manager first to be sure.
Mine Asus is working fine now with bios v214
