    Satellite L50-B-1NX

This laptop will not boot up, I have examined the MB and found a blown component.

    Motherboard: da0blimb6f0 rev f

Can anyone identify the blown component?

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

Seems like RTC crystal for PCH. Try to post closer pic of damaged part

Thank you for the reply, it is not going to be easy getting a closer photo, the component is tiny. I will give it a go.

Also - would this component stop the laptop posting?

        Re: Satellite L50-B-1NX

Yes if it is confirmed crystal or oscillator

Remove heat sink and take close snapshot

Crystal provides frequency or clock signal to the PCH and PCH boosts the frequency according to different system device needs

Clock is normal 32khz , you can verify by oscilloscope

Hi Guys, I cannot get a clearer image of this component, my phone just refuses to focus on it.

I agree, this looks like a crystal, if you guys are confident that it is 32KHz is there any reason why I could not just purchase a generic SMD replacement?

            Example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CRYSTAL-3...kAAOSw4yte6fMm

I presume there is no schematic/Boardview for this motherboard?

            Any assistance is appreciated.

Found your motherboard and check crystal is at right side of big chip and of black colour rectangle shape Epson type body with 4 legs so it is safe and it is shown in above thread 32khz

This one is I think 4 leg square type black colour Epson body
                14mhz , 40mhz I think
