HP 14-n003ej i5 Intel HD graphics + Radeon issue

    Hi all,

Long time been away from here,
Need your advise, got this Laptop without OS. (i5 5th generation)

Insallation of Win10 Pro is passing- letting windows autodownload drivers.
Installing the Intel HD graphics is passing with no issue.
When it finished installing the Radeon graphics driver the system freezes, and will freeze while booting if i force shutdown- so i need to reinstall again everytime.

I reinstalled 4 times to verify.
also flashed the latest bios from HP's website.
I tried reflow for the Radeon chip, but still same issue.

Any ideas of why this is happening?

(im perfectly fine with using only the intel HD graphics.
any ideas on how to permanently disable the Radeon?)

you can disable it in device manager. did you see an a red exclamation in the radeon device? if so the radeon chip is bad.

i was looking for a more permanent solution.
as soon as the driver gets installed even in the middle of the installation the laptop freezes and i need to reinstall the windows again.

googling a bit more showed that the problem is with the latest AMD drivers for windows 10. and has some workaround to avoid the autoupdates.

too much hassle for me, i decided to downgrade for Win7, driver installation was smooth witout issues. over a day of troubelshooting because of a faulty driver issue...

I guess you have tried Win10 in UEFI boot mode, try it in Legacy boot mode - everything should be OK even without "modding" ATI drivers.
