Video card shows 256MB instead of 2GB

GTX 760,

what could cause this card to show less ram than originally installed on the board?

Bad firwmware or what? Card works OK, but doesn't show all ram.

This is from my son’s gaming computer that at first had minor overheating issues when playing a very intense game with it causing the computer to crash or reboot

The issue with this video card is the HDMI port. Specifically on pin 19 (Diode checks on all other pins are normal). When i do a diode check on it from the pin on the board itself, I have nothing. There is also no short on the pin. Resistance reads about 200k. Normally on any HDMI pin 19 I would expect some voltage drop anywhere from .5v to 1.2v but here, I have nothing. The card is operational and can be used via the displayPort ports, but not through the HDMI. Attached you will find the pdf schematics for the card on page 22. What video card can I get for this computer what limitation does the CPU have concerning video card and memory size on the video card

I am exploring what I use on this computer I do not much experience with doing this type of matching video card to motherboards

KFA2 GTX 1080 video card not recognised, no output

Hi all,

With the outrageous prices of new video cards out there I've put some more effort into trying to fix an older card (repairing stuff is always a good idea in my mind, but the learning curve for the video cards seemed steep).
The video card is of GTX 1080 type (GP104 chip) that does not show up on the PCIE bus BIOS overview. It also does not provide any signal out on any of the ports (figures I suppose if is not seen by the motherboard).

DIY PCIe x1 video card...

Anyone try just cutting all the extra pins and card edge of a PCIe x16 card to make a PCIe x1 video card, just to stuff another slot and connect more monitors?

Would this be considered a ghettomod?
