    Identify chips HP 15-da0503sa EPK50 LA-G073P

Anyone know what these chips are? Both are a little warm to the touch on a water damaged board that isn't powering on and I have no schematic for it. Nothing else gets warm on the board (thermal cam only those 2 chips are yellow, everything else purple)

The laptop is HP 15-da0503sa and the motherboard is EPK50 LA-G073P

2nd chip markings "BAC" is a Sylergy SY8288C, integrated 5V regulator.
First chip I dunno, most likely a similar chip, maybe 3V regulator.
They will get slightly warm when working. Make sure they output some voltage.
You can probably use LA-C881P for the pinout of the second chip.

      Thanks Piernov,

Customer took the laptop back for a while but it's back in my hands again and indeed there is something up with those chips - both the 3v and the 5v are showing 6.8v and 7v respectively on their pin 1.

Pin 1 is bootstrap pin according to LA-C881P schematics.
It's normal that it has a higher voltage than output. If the output voltage is fine then there's nothing wrong with those chips.

Ah I see, thanks very much - I never would've been able to work that out by looking at the schematics which clearly say 3v on that line. Very confusing! I realise I need to spend some time reading and understanding component datasheets in order to understand board schematics.

Not aware of any available schematics. Proceed to remove all power.

              Meter in resistance mode.

Check & post the resistance to ground on the referenced 3v3 rail.

Also post clear and zoomed up pics of the local regulator that creates this rail. What are the markings on the regulator ?

Best place to source RAM chips? 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB
                      by ugamazing
I'm looking to upgrade several 8GB 820-00850 boards to 16GB or 32GB for personal use. I am curious what the best practice and process is for sourcing new replacement chips, and what vendor(s) you guys prefer? Another question is, how do I find compatible chips and their corresponding part/model numbers? For example, in the 820-00850 schematic, the DDR chip U2600 model listed (EDFB232A1MA) corresponds to 1x32GB chip. Of course, I would need 4x8GB chips to replace the 4x2GB chips currently on the board. How do I find compatible 8GB chips? Is it as simple as searching "BGA178 8GB 2133"...

Help to identify chips on Sony SRS-XB43
                      by maleksa
My Sony SRS-XB43 won’t turn on, won’t charge (no LED light when plugged in to USB charger) and won’t run on batteries. I tried changing batteries but no luck.

I am trying to figure out the cause of the problem and I need help to identify two (2) ICs, which are U4 (with marking CKUCFA) and U6 (markings MPMS9428A643). I have attached a picture.

                      Appreciate any help or pointers....

WSON8 NEW Bios Chips READ, ERROR, ETC.

                      Hi,
I asking for help on some new WSON8 256MB chips. Please share your experience. I faced error on some new chips on read, erase, write with different programmers. These new chips are not exist in any programmers database. (GD25B256D, XM25RH256, W25Q256JV so on.)
                      I'm using RT809F V.5.0, EZP2023 Pro, CH341A Green

For the exact experience with GD25B256DYIG is RT809F erase the chip under 33sec. This kind of 256MB chip normal erase time is 70-120sec so I think not all the partitions are erased. If I do blank check or reread the buffer says FFFFFF but when I write the correct...

Nvidia K4100m missing chips .. can you identify please
                      by nsr500rossi
                      Hi

I bought a Nvidia K4100m for my aged iMac 2011 the other day.

Unfortunately (I have no idea how ) I have knocked off two chips and dislodged one other .

I wondered if you guys could identify what the part numbers might be so I can replace them .

I have looked all over for a schematic for the board but to no avail.

To add .. the missing chip at the front with the three tab attachments has the code TR7 written on it

                      Attached is a photo..

I have ringed to missing or damaged chips in red

                      ...
