the voltage will be cut off as you possibly have a short on the motherboard. finding the short is not something that anyone can help you if you have never done this kind of job before.

yeah the guy needed help I guess but measuring the big "component" voltage means to me: get someone with knowledge to look at it.
Or you could possibly help him lol

Agreed with ktmmotocross. Check first two DC-In mosfet voltage specially pin4(gate)

thanks for the responds, i think it will be wise to give full story of this laptop, this was from a friend of mine, he said this laptop came with no display, what he did was to re bail the GPU and display came up, he now saw that the system was getting hot, to him he wanted to try a different processor but didn't have the exact one for CQ40 , so he now thought DV6700 will march, he now used the processor to try if there will be a change, unfortunately system didn't come up again, there was a smoke, so when he checked one mosfet has burnt beyond recognition, circuit no is PQ202, no way to know what the number is, he now looked at the schematic and saw that it was AO4466_SOB, again he didn't have 4466 so he used 4468, cap PC202 was also shut, after replacing the mosfet with the numbers i just mention, the set came on and shutdown twice and that was the end till now. so am trying to help him out of this mess, but first i want to ask? are those mosfet ok to use for the replacement , what will be the output of mosfet PQ101 4407? please i need help thanks in advance

it was high side mosfet for cpu line so processor may be burned

remove or replace it and check
