Hello all I have a Sony Xperia Z1,it was originally on the virgin network but beings was a ex contract phone is fully unlocked.

Is there any factory reset to get rid of virgin media's own apps ? Which can not be deleted ?

ive not done much regarding mobile phones what does rooting do to a phone does this remove the virgin media branding and update the android version?
