    Compal LA-6901P : No power with battery alone

    Hi;
    Having packard Bell with Compal LA-6901P With no power with battery.
    - BATERRY CHARGING OK
    - POWER ON WITH CHARGER ALONE : OK
    - POWER ON WITH BOTH CHARGER AND BATTERY : OK
    - POWER ON WITH BATTERY WITHOUT CHARGER : NO OK

    WITH CHARGER , ALL VOLTAGE ON PWR JUMPER ARE OK
    WITH BATTERY ONLY : 10v on ON/OFFBTN !!!!!

    ??? You should have 3,3V on that button.

    Focus on page 48 and check mosfet PQ5 and other parts related to its Gate.

      what voltages should i get on PQ9 pins with battery only ?

        Both cases battery and adapter pin 3 is clear, GND, pins 1 and 2 almost 0. In battery mode PQ9 gets short pulse to base and it sets gate of PQ5 to GND via PR15 , this opens PQ5 to pass the battery voltage to system. When you plug adapter, then VIN = 19V which closes PQ5 via PR16.

          problem solved by changing PQ5
