    asus ROG strix GL702VSX blown component near LVDS connector

    i have blown "fuse" near JP4501? going to the LVDS connector J4502 (40pin LVDS)
    the blown component near JP4501 goes to pins 1,2,3,4 of J4502
    JP4501 may actually be referring to a wickmann polyfuse 1524 which looks fine.

    what i’m looking for is the value of the component that is between the polyfuse and the LVDS

    apparently the LVDS connection was removed while the battery was still connected and blew the component.

    was also looking at the polyfuse from wickmann to try to gather some info and apparently wickmann is out of business and was sold to littlefuse - can't find any reference to what value the 1524 printed on the fuse is.

    and from what i’ve found values on the pins 1,2,3,4 of the LVDS connector are:
    J4502.1=x,
    J4502.2&3=panelVCC
    J4502.4=+3VS

    anyone have a clue from working on other asus motherboards, as to what i should replace that component with?

    If it's in series between that fuse and the 3V pins of LVDS connector it is likely a ferrite bead.

      thanks for your reply - i bounced off your thought (ferrite) and used a different type of search and think i may have found a solution. it is a similar issue on a different ROG.

      https://www.eevblog.com/forum/repair...t-asus-g751jy/

      says it is an: TAI-TECH HCB1608KV-300T30 (3A Ferrite Bead) and they ended up purchasing Wurth Elektronik Ferrite Bead (EMI Suppression), 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.8mm (0603 (1608M)), 30Ω impedance at 100 MHz
