820-02382-a
just an FYI - just recently had an 820-02382-a in the shop - liquid damage - the area seems to be where this may be a common issue - wanted to note that the current boardview doesn't show the component that was corroded. and since i could not identify it with the boardview, i couldn't located the values on the schematic. but i went around it a different way.
it was a capacitor located near U5660 - i pulled it then connected a wire to the line side. flipped the board and tested the connector JR200 on the flip side - turns out pin2 rang out. i was then able to head over to the schematic...

Re: asus ROG strix GL702VSX blown component near LVDS connector
thanks for your reply - i bounced off your thought (ferrite) and used a different type of search and think i may have found a solution. it is a similar issue on a different ROG.

says it is an: TAI-TECH HCB1608KV-300T30 (3A Ferrite Bead) and they ended up purchasing Wurth Elektronik Ferrite Bead (EMI Suppression), 1.6 x 0.8 x 0.8mm (0603 (1608M)), 30Ω impedance at 100 MHzRe: asus ROG strix GL702VSX...

asus ROG strix GL702VSX blown component near LVDS connector
i have blown "fuse" near JP4501? going to the LVDS connector J4502 (40pin LVDS)
the blown component near JP4501 goes to pins 1,2,3,4 of J4502
JP4501 may actually be referring to a wickmann polyfuse 1524 which looks fine.
what i’m looking for is the value of the component that is between the polyfuse and the LVDS
apparently the LVDS connection was removed while the battery was still connected and blew the component.
was also looking at the polyfuse from wickmann to try to gather some info and apparently wickmann is out of business...Last edited by mrfxr; 08-27-2018, 07:29 PM.
