Re: Help a newbie with his first project
The Mosfets get a little warm, but nothing special, PU100 still gets burning hot like before. It might just be the PU100 heating up the mosfets from the underside...Comment

Re: Help a newbie with his first project
Sorry I did not mention that before, did you put back the coils? If not, put them back and remeasure the pins, I don't think that will change anything. For the ground, any place on the motherboard is good.Comment

Re: Help a newbie with his first project
No problem! No I didn't, so I will do that later today and measure again! Also I was wondering, now that my measurements seems completely different than what the schematic says, is that due to not having anything connected to the motherboard, or is it due to not being turned on? Also I've found that the coils I took off are 2.2uH, while the schematic says they should be 1uH.. Are the schematic wrong, or has someone decided to replace more components on the board? And does it matter? Thanks again for all your help!Comment

Re: Help a newbie with his first project
Oh well, does it have any negative effect?
I just got done measuring PU100 again, and it has exactly the same voltage on the pins... Is it defective, or is something else causing it to output wrong voltage?Comment

Re: Help a newbie with his first project
When you have the VIN=19.5V, you should have the output VREG3 at 3.3V to power the EC chip and the ON/OFF button, now you have 1.2V. Check the resistance on the VREG3 (pin 3) to ground to see if you have a heavy load, otherwise the PU100 is defective.Comment

Re: Help a newbie with his first project
I just measured the resistance, it is coming in at 12 Ohm on VREG3... I measured with no power attached, is that okay?Last edited by jacobtc; 04-30-2018, 07:29 AM.Comment

Re: Help a newbie with his first project
Ordered some RT6585B's from China, and have to find my hot air station...
So it is certain that PU100 is defective? It makes sense, as nothing lights up, and the power button does nothing, when it is only receiving 1.2V, however can anything else on the board affect PU100, so that VREG3 only outputs 1.2V and not 3.3V as it should?Comment

Re: Help a newbie with his first project
With only the schematic and not the board view, I have a hard time finding PC101, escpecially because it is a 0603 cap. Is there a easy way to find it? Could it be the one right above Pin 3 on PU100?Comment

by CapacitorialHello guys,
I have a Philips 240B7QPJEB. The monitor seems completely dead.
I opened it and measured the voltages of the powersupply. I found that a mosfet was dead and replaced it.
On the connector, that goes to the TCON board, all voltages 15-19V and 5V are present.
The small connector on the left of the PSU has two cables with 18V and all the other have 0.2V. It connects on this small connector on the left ontop of the panel. I guess the backlight? Seens fine I guess.
The weird thing is, that the Power LED is powered over the TCON board.
On The TCON...-

by worldofskinHey guys! i build a 30V 3A powersupply. My friend blown it... He connected cables to the wrong connectors. I changed the op amps, shorted zener diode and a 9014. Now the powersupply works again but only to 6V. When i measured the caps they looked in spec. But after i connected 2200uF cap on the main power rail parallel to the C1 - 3300uf one - output voltage is now regulatable to 8v. Any idea where to look ? or what to do ? R1 and R2 are getting hot. The input of the transformer is 40V after rectifiers. Its a 24V transformer on 230V mains voltage....

by sam_sam_samRight now Battery Hookup has these e-bike battery packs that are used but I am going to remove them and test them and see how good they are and maybe resell or reused them for another project this is for another day
When I get the rack mounted enclosure that I mentioned in another post I will see how well they fit in the enclosure and how much room I will have left

These battery packs are a little bit hard to get out of the enclosure because they were a little bit glue... -
by BladibladI have an interesting project here. I have a HP RTX 3060 12GB VRAM GPU with a shortcircuit between a (what I believe is) a coil and a cap. The short circuit is so bad that it will trigger a failsafe on the PSU.
I'm a beginner in this field and have managed to do only very simple board repairs so far. I have basic understanding of the components (mosfets, caps, nand chips) but completely diagnosing a board with schematics would be challenging. In this case though, I'm going to hope that replacing only the two shorted components will bring the card back to life (if none of the IC's... - Loading...
