    Asus gl552vw touchpad not working...

The laptop works perfect except touchpad...i tried everything..asus smart gesture will not install...saying error preventing...it is not detected in device.manager...no touchpad..i even tried to change it for similar touchpad model of asus but also not working...i measure voltages and its powering fine...i dont know what else to do? There are many threads on the internet about this same model where touchpad is not working...the ribbon looks fine..i have continuity on each pad from beggining to the end of ribbon cable...
Oh, i use win 10...anybody with some new ideas?
One more thing i can not flash bios because low/bad battery, i tried with reprogramming bios but two dumps i found were not working...so i put the old back..
Fn+f9 not working...every other fn function works.
    Thank you

    by grimacelord
    Hello,

I have spent the last hour on this and I guess this is just over my head, so here I am.

I have an ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI motherboard here that needs to have the BIOS updated in order to accept the latest CPUs.

The BIOS chips seem to come as a set of two: GD25B64ESIG and GD25B128ESIG. My guess is one of them is a fail-safe for the main BIOS? I really don't know. Or one of them is ME and other is BIOS? I don't know.

After that, I began voltage measurements, in which I noticed the absence of VDDQ, VDDP, VTT, and VPP lines. Later, I checked if there is an EN state on these lines,...
