I have asus g750jw, the laptop was shorting the charger (attached boardview)...i removed everything from motherboard and start looking using multimeter. I found short to ground almost on every part of the board
finally i found that the problem was in 19 net, the capacitor pce6000-poscap 15UF/25V was dead, shorting the motherboard... I removed it...
Later i checked and most of the board was ok but some parts still short to ground...so i isolated the problem and found it in +vcore net.
I removed every capacitor and resistor that connects +vcore net to other nets and now i have only short to ground from +vcore and pvcore_csref_10 net.
In pitctures:
1. Desoldered from bottom of the board, all +vcore:
2. Desoldered from other side of the board, all +vcore except CPU.
3. Again picture from bottom and up but now of net pvcore_csref_10, the net that is also shorting to the ground. And i couldnt find any other net that is shorting to ground.
And finally while measuring continuity between gnd and+vcore i have long beep. And when measuring resistence between +vcore and gnd i get reading 16.5 ohms . So can i safely assume that CPU is dead or? PLease help me, i am new in all this...
Thank you!
