pavilion g6-2163se Motherboard problem

hello everyone I need your help guys
this laptop came up with not working usb port 2xusb3 1xusb2
no sound card or camera in devices,1 unkown device on usb hub probably camera also Sound IC is burnt customer mentioned that smoke cam out from laptop once but laptop was working with it's touchpad and keyboard boot to windows

so I tried to check out what's wrong I've tried to disconnect camera from mainboard

R14 3v camera removed also r8,r9 they are usb data + data - to camera
plug adapter try to power on computer it didn't work at all

reconnect r14 3v and retry nothing reconnect r8 r9
laptop power up with no data caps lock blinking south bridge getting hot
my problem that I want to make this laptop boot again at least like previous condition I'm pretty sure I didn't do something wrong
how to check Southbridge if it's working or not
what could cause this,,, Bios, Southbridge, burnt sound ic or something else
please help me guys

Have you tried it yourself and it was working according to your description before trying to fix? Or is it so u just believed the other guy?

yes it was working he even said wifi not working also I check out
no drivers were installed I install all it's drivers
wifi worked 2 vga cards worked but no usb or sound card Plus 1 unknown device in usb device controllers

:'( I really didn't do something extra just remove those resistors and I was very careful not to do something wrong ;'(

check y5,y6 ,y7,y8,and specially y9 (25MHz frequency Crystal ) may be damage.

Then have you removed the burned audio codec chip before desoldering other components?


If the audio codec not removed, start there, remove it, resolder any other component you took off the see if it helps.

Its very likely you now totally fried the PCH if nothing moves. good luck.

you were right PCH was fried
LCD/Camera Cable was damaged and shorted and i didn't notice it till it was too late
wish i could replace PGA chips here in egypt
i wish i could have access to buy PCH ICs and solider it

i only have multimeter simple one
if i can do any tric to measure it's functionality with simple multimeter

There is a cheap kit you can buy and build to measure crystals.
I got mine from China its a bit cheaper than here
