Hello, thanks for stopping by. Trying to figure out what happened to my youngest's laptop....
It's a Dell E5510. Motherboard is a Fonseca 15 MB (48.4EQ10.011).
No power, no led's, nothing. No water damage or anything like that.
Tried a different ac adapter but the results are the same.
I've got 3.15v at the power switch. Pressing the power switch drops the voltage to 0v.
Based on my limited knowledge and with some reading here I've taken a closer look at the TPS51125. Here's some prelim readings:
Pin 16 (vin) is 19v
Pin 8 (vreg3) is 3.3v
Pin 17 (vreg5) is 5v
Pin 13 (en0) is > 2v (my notes are at home but I recall it being over 2v)
I'm a bit baffled with pin18 (vclk) as I read 0v there. Seeing the "clk" I don't want to guess I should be seeing something there with a simple meter? Is that pin tied to the battery charging? (I don't have the battery installed.)
I haven't looked at pin 7 (vo2) or 24 (vo1) yet. Should they be on all the time or does the magic only happen when the power button is depressed?
Any tips would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
