Microsoft Surface 2 (1572) LCD Replacement

I'm in the process of ordering an LCD (already bonded with the digitizer) as a replacement for a customer who cracked their digitizer glass (the LCD itself is ok though), and I was wondering if anyone knew the diameter of the tape that Microsoft used to bond the display to the device.

I'm fairly certain that I've narrowed down the type of adhesive they used to 3M VHB, but it comes in 0.64mm, 1.1mm, and 1.6mm, and I don't want to get one that's too thick or too thin.

If anyone has any insight, I'd greatly appreciate it.
"We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn't have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed [sic]. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, 'Save me!' He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them."

They often sell the tape directly for the devices with the right shape.

But I heard that some UV-hardened loctite glue is supposedly the best option…who knows

As I mentioned elsewhere, the LCD and digitizer could be part of the tablet body as in the Samsung Galaxy SIII - something to be aware of.

Second hand tablet from ebay $118
New LCD and digitizer $100 (cheaper from China)

The LCDs are bonded to the digitizer in the surface. And whilst i see tape being sold i believe they use a glue in the factory.

lumia phone has the digitizer bonded to the lcd, but you can seperate them and buy UV curable glue to put the new one on.

There are two types of repairs. Replacing only the digitizer, which is nearly impossible, and replacing the whole assembly.

The tape I'm talking about is the one that attached the whole LCD assembly to the Surface chassis.

I basically have it down to 3M VHB series, but I'm not sure if it's the 0.25mm, 9.6mm or 1.1mm version.
