Toshiba C855 (PLF/PLR/CSF/CSR DSC MB)change video from 216-0810028 with 216-0833002

Hello,

Unfortunatelly, I have a big problem with a Toshiba Satellite C855, motherboard PLF/PLR/CSF/CSR DSC MB

First, this laptop have a vertical lines, about 3 cm wide, in with the image was in lines and macroblocks.
I verified anything, the panel, lvds, ram, etc.
I presume taht is video chip defect.
So, I reball the chip, but now I have no video at all.
I change the chip who was 216-0810028, with another wich code is 216-0833002
Off course, no video.
Now I think that is a wrong bios, because is a different chip.

Is there a way to change the bios for this laptop and exactly for this type of video chip?

I have the same laptop with the same problem. Original chip 216-0810028 and I put 216-0833000. I read that I can do that change, but black screen. Any help with these Toshiba?

I had same issue after replacing the chip [I installed the same 216-0810028] and I had black screen until I did a reflow at video RAMS.
After that it came alive again.
It is interesting if it can accept other chips also [I guess cheaper ones]

did it worked with original chip? i can try to swap vga bios if i had original bios and bios form motherboard that have new chip

try to reprogram the bios chip after replacement of video chip

my toshiba c855 shutdown and restarts after working for a while, i have tried all the overheating stuffs, replaced the hard disk, ram and processor but the problem still persists, plz any help will be highly appreciated

If you have tools and skill:
- Soldering iron or hot air station would be better
- SPI programmer
- Skill to solder and desolder a chips
then consider to fix bios related by ME region issue, upload your bios backup. hope someone can help you
