    HP DV6-1245dx Intel Chip is being Hot!!!

    Hello all,
    I'm in a trouble that i'm working on a HP DV6-1245dx, When i turns on the power switch the fan spin for a while and display just appear HP Logo and turns off. . . When i touch the Intel Chip AF82801 IBM (U45), it is being hot. . .
    I'm gonna attach the pic of that chip and gonna attach the Schematic Diagram of that Mother Board. . . Please help me out.
    One more thing, is there any possibility of faulty CPU????
    By the way, i've changed about 10 CPU's but nothing changed. . .

    82801IBM is the Southbridge. It should not get hot under any circumstances. Check for shorted USB ports.

      I've checked USB's thoroughly, but i noticed no USB Short. Any other clue????

        He said broken usb plastic.

        Aside usb ports. Pins bend
        Just cook it! It's already broken.

          If you see or measure no short on USB or no other hot chip (ethernet etc), try to change that SB. I have a few bad ones of them.

            Hey all,
            Thanks for your time, I'm luckily successful coz the HDMI Socket was short due to water. I just wash it with Alcohol, and now it is working. hurrah. . ..

              Nice to have u fixed that problem. but suprisingly, what connection has hdmi got to do with southbridge that it should result in it heating up? Or is the power management in the southbridge detecting the short in the hdmi?
              Any views out there?
