    hello ppl

    can you pls assist me?

    i have satellite c855-1uu

    mb
    PLF/PLR/CSF/CSR UMA MB
    REV 2.1

    H000050950

it works on DC but wont turn on or work on bat.. it instantly shuts off
i have tried it with another working bat, also tried this bat in another laptop, so batt is ok
no schematics found for this one

    found no faulty mosfets...

it would be nice if someone posts 100% tested and working dump of bios, read in other thread that bios can be problem...
    current ver
    SYSTEM bios: 6.80
    EC version : 1.70

hum reedit didnt read well your post , well first of all cheked with schematic , if its a P channel type your gate must be near 0 or negative values , only that way it will make passage from drain to source .

Also chek charger ic for GATE signal as also LDOs

        let us know pin result

i dont have , but tell me , with battery on the laptop , chek and tell me what are the voltages on all pins of battery . you can measure on board solder points on directly on the battery pins .
also cheking visually chek the mosfet that will feed main line , chek source drain and gate and tell me , also let me know the model of the mosfet that feed battery and wich is the QFN for charger system

its hard for me to trace with schematics but il try

thank you very much for taking time and interest to help me!!!

this board have very little number of mosfets, checked all, found no shorts in diode mode nor resistance mode

              no battery
              main mosfet near dc jack
              ior f8707
              pin 1-3: 19.19v
              pin 4: 24.65v
              pin 5,6,7,8: 19.19v

              same with battery

              near it, smaller one
              fds 8884 same voltage

              no bat
              near bat con
              ior f8707
              pin 1-3: 3.25v
              pin 4: 3.25v
              pin 5,6,7,8: 19.19v

              with bat
              ior f8707
              pin 1-3: 0.44v
              pin 4: 0.40v
              pin 5,6,7,8: 19.19v

              bat con, no bat
              pin 1: 0v
              pin 2: 0v
              pin 3: 3.3v
              pin 4: 3.3v
              pin 5: 3.2v
              pin 6: 0v
              pin 7: 0v
              pin 8: 3.2v
              pin 9: 3.2v

              with bat
              pin 1: 0v
              pin 2: 0v
              pin 3: 3.2v
              pin 4: 3.2v
              pin 5: 0.2v - very different
              pin 6: 0v
              pin 7: 0.4v - very different
              pin 8: 0.4v - very different
              pin 9: 0.4v - very different

fuse near bat con when bat inserted 0.4v, if no bat 3.2v... no good, right? no power to bat :/

battery status blinks every 5-6 sec red color

i cant figure out what is charger... no markings on board, no schematics

              but

Re: help satellite c855 not working with batt.

well , if you tryed on another laptop and its working , then its surely a problem on dc detect circuit or charger circuit .

the mosfet you mention 8707 its a N channel so for it can provide passage from source to drain , gate must be positive , more or less voltage will be added to gate depending on how much voltage will be on the drain .

If you leave the battery charging , do you notice the 0.4 volts incresing in any way ? ir not , then there is a problem on SENSE signal on charger IC , not detecting or detecting anormality , if he detect anormality on the segment it will drive very few voltage for the gate making the computer not to charge battery , can you provide voltages on pins of the charger IC ?
