How is everyone?

I have my friends laptop and I want to try to fix it

I have had numerous help from the wonderful forum helping me repair flat screen tvs

So far I have repaired 8 tvs

Hopefully I can get some help to repair this laptop

As the title states the screen is black
The laptop powers on because the green leds light up

So what should I test should I open the laptop?

1. try another ram memory
2. try VGA video output
3. try another processor

If the above does not solve the problem is possible to be problems with graphics card .You can try a hot air possible to start image, then reball

thanks for the response angel-boy

I did try hooking up the laptop to a monitor and it did not work
the monitor did not detect a signal

where is the ram memory and processor? I do not have spare parts

I did take apart the laptop and I noticed something was spilled previously
I asked my friend what she had spilled and she said it was tea but I happened more than 6 months ago and the laptop worked fine

I will post pictures today when I get home

I have a Satellite L775 (actually the computer I am writing this with) that had a similar issue, no external or internal video. Bios flash worked for me.

p1 can you tell me how to bio flash it?

I am a newb to computer repairs, flashing, reprogramming etc.

You would need to remove the bios chip from the board, put it in a programmer like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Programm...item2594774276, get a bios dump uploaded by someone with a working machine like yours, reprogram the chip, and then reinstall it.
