HELP my Monitor display says: RGB No Input

    Hi all
Normally I shutdown my PC at night. When I tried to start up this morning the normal statup sounds are audible and I see the LED flickering implying all is OK for the hard drive do it's thing.
However, the standby orange LED on the monitor does not go green to turn on the monitor.and show video. I think the monitor is OK since at plugin and when the power button is pressed the backlights come on and aRGB No Input message comes up then after afew secons the LED goes back orange in Stand by mode.
I am not sure if it is the turn on and video signals are not being output from the tower.
What must I do to troubleshoot??

    Hi,
First - might sound stupid, but reconnect your monitor cable both on the monitor side and on the PC side.
Two - narrow down the issue, PC/Video card problem ?/ Monitor cable issue? / Monitor itself issue? so test your monitor on a different PC.
Third - report your findings and we shall continue from there
In a transistor circuit protected by a fuse, the transistor will always blow to protect the fuse.

Thanks addytzu123 for your response. I had no computer over the weekend and so the first thing I am doing now is checking for aresponse via my work computer. OK so I got a next monitor cable and that gave the same symptom. I connected the monitor on another computer and it is working fine- ruled out monitor problem. I discovered after opening the CPU Tower and the HDD is getting power and sounds to be working but nothing. So I want to think the hard drive is OK. I noticed the video card fan is running and perhaps may be OK. The PSU seems to be OK, too.
My final gues is, could it be the Mother Board??
BTW it is an IDE system built in 2006 with Windows XP and MS office 2003. Perhaps it might be time for an upgrade but if I can fix this sytem I could keep it to read Schematics, copy CDs and DVDs and other non Internet stuff. Thanks

Re: HELP my Monitor display says: RGB No Input

OK so I have determined the following pieces are working as I tested them on another computer:
          1. Monitor.
          2. HDD.
          3. 450W Power Supply.
          4. 4 x 1Gigs RAM cards.

          Unable to test:
          1. Video card
          2. Mother Board.

          Deduction:
          1. Main Chip defective on Mother Board.
          2. HDD getting power but unable to respond.
          3. Video card good.

          Decided:
          1. Recover information from HDD.
          2. Buy another sytem as this is an outdated IDE system using Windows XP and Office 2003.
          3. Time to go SATA with Windows 7 and Office 2013.
          4. Look for a sytem with a Solid State Hard Drive, Intel main chip with 8Gigs RAM
