My question is: is this IC reprogrammable, or do I just need to replace it? It appears to be controllable via I2C or SMBUS, and the main controller should be able to control it, so it probably doesn't need any further programming and should work out of the box. Also in case it's programmableI need to know if there's any kind od ec bios available for this ic and laptop model.

ASUS TUF Dash F15 shorted ic information request
Hey guys, I have an Asus gaming laptop. It arrived with a short circuit on the 20V rail due to a failed attempt to restore the backlight. I resolved the short circuit, but when I connected the charger, the laptop wouldn't turn on. I also noticed overheating on the 3V and 5V power supply. After a few hours of diagnostics, I identified the faulty component: the IT8308FN, it seems to be a GPIO expander for EC. This component got damaged and caused a short circuit on the 3V LDO rail, causing the power supply to overheat due to the overcurrent.

by OOF DIO(If anyone has a functional boardview file of FX505DV/DU that would be helpful)
(Had 3 problems, now just 1)
I have no experience or knowledge and usage of tools to repair devices besides the entire past 12-10 days of researching, watching YouTube repair videos and troubleshooting this laptop motherboard. ChatGPT was used as a guide to ask questions.
I used boardviews of mostly FX505GD-M, and some FX505DU, FX505DD. Used schematics of FX505DU.
I had originally intended to replace the BQ24780s first (due to previous battery removal while benchmarking) but I... -
by mr.DataI have a dead Asus ROG gaming laptop with liquid damage. When I measure the first mosfet, there is 19V. On the second mosfet there is nothing on the input and 4.3V on the output but it is not continuously. It is going up and down.
I have read this article:

Is it through that inductors can never be shorted?
I have 2 inductors near the GPU that are shorted. Does this mean that the GPU itself is shorted? How can I know for sure? -
by nagkillerHello everyone!
This grafic card came for repair, but when I connected it to the motherboard, the board would not start (short circuit in the 12V rail).
After removing some PLs to isolate the short in the 12V rail, I got to PML1/PML2, according to the BoardView reference.
Even injecting a voltage of 1V0 and a current of 3A in the FBVDDQ rail, for example, the voltage drops to 0V20 and none of the components heat up.
The attached boardview file is very similar to this grafic card, which I am basing the repair on.
I would like some...05-10-2025, 09:19 AM -
