DAH98NMB8C0 REV:C HF BATTERY LOGO DISPLAY

Has anyone ever experienced a case like this? Or does anyone have a solution for this?

Battery is low in voltage and is discharged. Attach the suitable power adapter to charge the battery.

Does the unit power up with the power adapter connected?

Then the power path is not making it to the main power rail.

Do you have a schematic for your model?

            Not available.

How is this unit powered? Is this a USB-C style of power adapter or a round barrel jack?

Are you comfortable with opening up the unit and take measurements with a multi-meter? If not, the unit will have to be repaired by a local tech. What we need to do here is to trace the DCin power connector and follow this to the main power rail. Interested to know which charger IC is onboard. Then we can probably reverse engineer the design and fix the fault.

It uses a type C jack, DCin power is already spread out but it's still like that

CAN THIS BE FROM THE BATTERY IC? BQ25713

Yes - that is the battery charger IC.

Reference the datasheet for the same:

                https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/bq...ouser.com%252F

Meter in DC volts (30v scale or higher) mode.

Carefully measure the voltage to ground of the following pins on the charger IC:

REGN ; pin 28 - should be ~6volts if normal
VBUS ; pin 1 - should be the adapter voltage and is used to power this charger IC

Then remove all power. Meter in resistance mode. Disconnect the battery as well.

Measure the resistance between the SRN & SRP pin directly on the charger IC. Again, no power to the board.

We are checking if the full path resistance for this battery charging current sense loop is correct for the charger IC. Most likely, the logic board designer used this reference datasheet for their design so expecting to see ~20R ohms for this measurement.

yes it is 6v, but why does the screen always show the battery logo

This is because the battery is discharged and the adapter is either not detected or there is a fault in the battery charging circuit.

                    REGN @ 6v is a good start.

Share the SRN / SRP resistance measurements. Disconnect the adapter and battery before measuring this full path directly on the charger IC. If the resistance is not like the schematic then the charger IC believes there is a problem and will shut down the charging process.

Also measure the voltage to ground of the SYS pin on the charger ic.

This is the main power rail. What is the voltage?

Dell E6400 PT434 type Battery Charging Stuck at 1%. Battery Pinouts?
                              by Bowline
My question pertains to understanding the control circuity inside a Dell PT434 type battery used in Dell E6400, E6410 and other Dell notebooks?

Does anyone have a circuit diagram for the inside of a Dell PT434 battery and/or a description of how the control lines work to control this battery?

My reason for asking is I have a battery which I cannot get to charge beyond 1% in a Dell E6410 or E6400.
The LED bar graph charge indicator on the battery shows one LED lighted when the info button is pressed.
I have tried multiple different Dell power adapters. My Dell...

ASUS X571 no power : battery issue?
                              by mkdj
                              Hello everyone,

                              Mark and model: ASUS X571
Symptoms: not turning on. There is only the LED battery indicator working. The owner of the laptop told me this problem arrived one week after having changed the battery. He then managed to power on the laptop only once, and then it never powered on again.

                              Tests already made:
                              - Battery is charging when laptop is plugged in. The LED battery indicator turns white after a couple of hours of charge, indicating that battery is fully charged. However, laptop won't turn on anyway, with or without AC plug.
                              - I have removed...
