Acer Aspire A515-56 Main FH5AT LA-K093P no power

Hi all,

I have the same motherboard as OP: LA-K093P.
Symptom was: laptop worked fine on battery, but no power/no charge with adapter.
I have read this thread carefully and found out that ACDET was below expected value on PQ101 and BQ chip: only 2.06V (should be 2.4V+).
As suggested by mon2 in post #14, I have removed PQ101. ACDET went to 2.62V, within expected values! Now the charge led turns on and battery charges. Power light turns on when power button is pressed, with and without battery present. Success!
So, a massive thank you to everyone's contribution in this thread.
Question though: is it safe to operate the laptop without PQ101? Should I replace PQ101? And/or should I replace the DC jack?

Good to hear of your success. Yes, it is ok to leave PQ101 off the board. The ACDET voltage is the decision maker on when the battery should be charging or not. As long as you are above the threshold voltage supplied by the power adapter, the battery will charge fine.
