Re: Asus N73 no sound in internal speakers
I am still testing this PC, which still has no sound on the speakers. (sound on HDMI, Bluetooth and headset is ok though).
Now I have discovered something very weird. There is no sound at all on the speakers. But if I run the PC on battery only, when the battery is at a critical level, I can hear the sound on the speakers for one second just before the PC shuts down! This is the only moment when the sound works on the speakers. What the heck!?
Can anyone explain this?Re: Asus N73 no sound in internal speakers

Toshiba L650 - can you identify a missing component?
Hi all,
I have a Toshiba L650 that won't boot. I have the power led and charging leds ok. But if I press the power button, nothing happens. I have tested the power button: voltage drops from 3V to 0V when pressed. Button is fine.
Upon motherboard inspection, I have found out that one component was missing (now two components, bc I have destroyed another one trying to fix, sigh...).
Please see the picture attached.
The components missing seem to be similar to many other components along that trace: they go from the trace (tested 19V) to the ground...

Acer Aspire E1-771G - Mainboard VA70/VG70 ver. 2.1
Hello again,
I have tried flashing both bios from both sources (matusiq and peste). However it did not solve the problem.
Here is the history of the PC: all I know is that it stopped working after someone banged it in anger (!). When I received it, the behaviour was: when I press the power button, the power light turns on blue then the PC shuts down 2 seconds after. No lights no nothing. You have to press power again, then you have blue light for 2 seconds then shutdown, etc.
I have removed the CMOS battery. Then, when I plug the power cord to the laptop, the blue power led...

Re: HP DV6 2130ec
TLDR: I give up on that MB
Hello techtiger
- when fan is spinning longer, it spins for about one second max
- the longest time the PC is powered up is about one second, then no power. No BIOS access.
- BIOS chip removed from board and flashed successfully with CH341A. One version only was used (found on badcaps : "Hewlett-Packard-F.13.rom").
I have a HP DV7-3005sf with motherboard DAUT1AMB6E1 REV:E. AMD processor. ATI video. AMD north and soutbridge.
I bought that PC second hand....

Re: HP DV6 2130ec
Same problem as above here: mobo will turn on for a split second.
I have also noticed a pattern:
1st attempt to 5th attempt: the mobo powers on a little bit longer each time (fan spinning longer)
On 6th attempt the caps lock led will also turn on.
Then the pattern resumes to 1st attempt behavior and so on.
What can it be?
Please note that I have flashed the BIOS and it changed nothing :/

Re: Asus N73 no sound in internal speakers
I had time to investigate around the amplifier. I tested the components around it with a multimeter in continuity mode.
See the results in the picture below
[for reference, schematics can be found in my 1st post above]
I hope it can help narrow down the problem. Apologies in advance if it's not relevant, since I am a newbie....

Re: toshiba satellite C850D-11R bios
Gnikosalalalal33, are you trying to flash with a programmer? Or from Windows?

Re: Asus N73 no sound in internal speakers
@kodox: your pointing to the amplifier does makes sense. I will troubleshoot it as you advised but I need time for the operation since it is a bit tricky for a newbie
@Mazorca: impedance for both internal speakers is 4.6 ohms quickly dropping to 4.3
Can you clarify how swapping mike and headphones jacks would help?
I may be wrong but I don't think the problem is with the audio jack. The Realtek software does detect and report properly when a jack is connected or disconnected.

Re: Asus N73 no sound in internal speakers
Thank you for your help, kodox. Much appreciated. I will investigate the amplifier.
I wanted to let you know of an important further symptom. Looking for signs of life in the speakers, I realized that only the speaker that is plugged in the right speaker connector will "plop". The speaker plugged in the left speaker connector does not output any noise.
If I plug the left speaker into the right speaker connector, it will plop. So I guess the issue is even worse with the left channel.
