Hi there,
Got this (clean) laptop without any previous repair attempts or any history about it …
When I press power button, the blue led is on, but no fans no boot splash or display. The battery is charging too.
No visible faulty components are on the board.
After awhile, the CPU_Core coils (from CSD97374) PL4701, 4702 and 4703 are extremely hot.
The 1V_CPU_CORE = 1.725V [ is not this too high?] and of course the CPU itself is getting hot
Also based on other posts from here, I measured resistance between:
DCBATOUT and 1V_CPU_CORE= 620 ohm and 1V_CPU_CORE and ground= 6.5 ohm
I used some IPA around the coils to see for shorted caps but no luck.
Any ideas...? Could be a bad BIOS ?
