Hi, can someone knowledgeable on the subject tell me why my g5 se 5505 has a blinking psu led when plugged in and the black chip gets hot.

that cap is damaged, see if it's shorted,
the resistor connected to pin5 is also blown -
Remove the 2R2 resistor on pin 5 of this chip and measure resistance to GND on both pads of this resistor. Very likely the chip is damaged.Comment
