Seems to be an issue with those boards and/or TPS51486 blowing up..., as I have a 15-eh board with the same blown up IC...

The circuit is the same, maybe a slightly different component placing

You can see the component IDs match, just the placement is different, and how the pads on the IC PU8700 TPS51486 "look" a bit different.., but the pin numbers match
Some components even go to the other side of the board, also there are some "hidden" jumper traces

EDIT: Yet the boardview i got from that thread doesn't even match exactly your board, but at least the schematics should help for that section
EDIT2: Measure resistance to GND on pin 98 of the EC (HWPG), there's a convenient cap nearby (CI16) where you can check
