I am inspecting an HP device, model 0PAD DA0PADMB8G0 REV: G, with processor i5-1035G1 and I suspect the issue with the PCH because, when connecting the original charger, there is no LED indicating detection, but the PCH gets slightly warm to the touch.
Measuring the coils near the processor, there is no short circuit. In voltage drop measurement, I get a reading of 0.107, and in ohms I get a reading of 134.2. On the 5V coils, I get OL, and the voltage drop measurement gives me 0.384. On the 3V coil, I also get OL, and the voltage drop measurement gives me 0.323.
This is the information I have so far, as I've been unable to find schematics or a boardview for this motherboard.
How can I confirm that the issue is indeed with the PCH? I've worked on devices where problems with the 3V line mean a definite PCH failure. However, this device doesn't even have a short on the 19V line. Is there any test I can perform to determine if the PCH is faulty?
