Hello everyone,
We recently replaced the OLED screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Gen 10. After about a month, the replacement screen began to flicker. Initially, updating the Intel® Iris® Xe graphics driver resolved the issue for about a week. However, when the problem recurred, updating the driver again had no effect.
The flickering only occurs once the system reaches the Windows login screen. Interestingly, if we disable the Intel GPU driver or connect the laptop to an external monitor, the flickering stops. We have tried installing two different replacement screens, but the problem persists. Both replacement panels have the same part and model numbers as the original screen.
The only noticeable difference is that the replacement screen does not have the black backing that the original did. Additionally, there is a small PCB that was attached to the back of the original screen, which we have transferred to the replacements. We are not entirely sure what function this board serves.
Are we missing something crucial? Any insights, suggestions, or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
