    Dell Alienware 17 R3 LA-C912P

    Hey guys,

i do have some troubles with this Mainboard.

I just got it from my brother after it had some real damage after a huge flood.
I cleaned everything so far and i try to make it work again.

The first issue i experienced was that the inductor (as shown) was not completly soldered any more.

I checked all the other with a multimeter and they seem to work fine.

As i am not sure what exactly the purpose of this part is, so i am not sure if its damaged and how to check it. I checked the schmematic, but did not get a clue hahaha. sorry for that.
I tried to find this part with the code written on but cant find any information or replacements to buy.

Maybe you guys can give me some hints or teach me in this matter.

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is an inductor. It is very likely, if not 100%, to NOT be the cause of the board not powering on.

You need to start by finding the DC-IN mosfets and measuring the drain of the second mosfet to ground in Diode/Continuity mode.
The mosfets that I am referring to look to be above and to the left of the inductor that you circled in the first picture.

If this is a typical Alienware board, it is 99% going to be an issue with the CPU VCORE DRMOSFETS.
