toshiba l300-229 totally dead

No power no nothing(lights)and mb gets power from the dc jack..and pw switch is ok,it had dead bios battery but that didnt solve the prob,could it be that nec/tokin?

Update:i ve change the nec/tokin with 4x 330 tantalums but still dead lappie

check 4 mosfet near cpu slot. 1 of them is defective

They r okey and i found new mb from ebay 30e not bad ,and thx to you.

so dude why u r posting?

if its totally dead it is the most good repair, because some of basic power rail have malfunction and problem is easy to find

If he can get a new board for cheaps he's better doing that than wasting his time/energy troubleshooting his current one. The success rate for board level repair is extremely low regardless of the problem.

OP, just make sure you change the Tokin cap on the new board, or sooner or later it will have problems.
