    Corrupting hard drives

Guys, what would you say the fault is with a 2nd generation Sandy-based laptop that is intermittently refusing to boot and corrupting hard drives, and then working fine again for weeks?

Don't have any more detail than that, I've been offered a price for it but I'm worried it's a PCH issue. It's an Acer 5750.

    Cheers
