Re: Asus Zenbook ux31a component identification

Alright, thanks! I won't go through the process of soldering a new one on then because it seems to be a PITA with those small ones.

    Thank you

I have forgot to do this but better late then never.

I got the backlight to work after replacing the inductor. The fault was a defective LVDS connector which shorted the backlight net to ground. So all worked after this. Thanks again Atsio for the help!

I want also how all this started
When i was cleaning it with wet paper towel the little wet bit got inside of mini dp port and after an hour or so the display started to get strange white spots which then all of a sudden stoped working... Maybe this was the cause? Or maybe when i was diagnosing the display cable connection with multimeter and accidentally shorted it again but this time i saw bright spark which lasted for a second or two...

So yellow marks the dp port where the bits of wet paper towel were found(I've already removed the whole dp unit it), purple mark is the display cable connector where i've made the second short, red mark is the blown smd capacitor which is located on the other side.

Pc works normally trough micro Hdmi.

          Thank you
