Please, I have the above problem, the laptop turned on after the switch was activated but it will turns off in less than 2 seconds.
The power stables in very rare case. Once it was stabled, everything works fine.
Once the power switched is pressed, 5V and 3V were present.
The things i have done:
1. I have check for shorts on the board, but nothing. The board is short free
2. Not a power switch problem, it behaves the same without the switch
3. Reprogrammed the BIOS chip, but the problem persists ( the BIOS chip work on another laptop of the same model) so not a BIOS problem
4. Replaced PU2, the problem persists too
5. Checked the EC (UK 1) nothing suspicious around it.
Please, help. I'm kind a stuck.
