Hi, RT8206 get heat in dell inspiron n5010 with no power. i have changed it but same problem. pls anyone help how to stop heating it.

try cleaning the fan and heatsink... dont forget to reapplied thermal paste... goodluck

Have you checked capacitors and mosfet connected to RT820x?

You shouldn't look for shorts, but low resistance instead. Any capacitor showing less than 20 ohms or less, must be de-soldered and checked again.
How many milliamperes drains the motherboard?

Something is consuming too much current on LDO output. Measure resistance on 5V LDO output (pin 7). If resistance 0 or very low, check who is sitting on this rail.

i have had similar problem. chip RT8206A was getting too hot, laptop did not turn on. replaced chip with another RT8206A from other bad motherboard - the same behaviour (that chip was bad too), and i did not have RT8206A more, so i replaced it with RT8206B chip. laptop works. i have read that there is some additional feature for prevent overcharging or something like that, so i put charger in and investigating. charging now at 95 percent, so i will see if some overcharging or different behaviour will be
