HP Pavillion 15-EC - dead Ryzen CPU?

    Hi there

    Motherboard model : ag3hbmbcd0

    Quick question for Ryzen specialists

Got this device without screen on a joblot and one of the CPU mosfets is missing.
This made me sad, as CPU is probably bad...

On that specific coil I have 1.8 Ohm (probes connected have 0.8) so basically 1ohm without the resistance probes.

On the 3 other coils 4.5 ohms.

I suppose the 1 ohm is too low, but I dont know the resistance of Ryzen 7 chips so if someone with more experience on these could give it the dead sentence, I apreciate it and ill move on

    Thanks for any inputs

The missing mosfet is likely a dual channel fet and was perhaps shorted/burnt. Since you received it in this condition, its difficult to guess why that mosfet was removed. My bet is it was shorted. If my assumption is correct, then CPU is fried as 19V has reeached the CPU. The resistance to GND value is fine though as it seems like VCCGT line.

So, in short,i feel CPU is bad.

      Hey there

Thanks for the input! much appreciated

Yes its a dual mosfet I see 2 gate pins. But I cant find any schematic or a picture where I could identify it to replace and confirm if its a dead CPU or not..,

If the resistance is in the normal range values, at least I should try it out before putting it on the side for parts.

Has anyone a way to identify this mosfet?

      Thanks !

Try putting the same mosfet as the other 3 in the picture(check the marking of these 3 mosfets in a row, make sure they 're dual n channel).

          Hello friend!

I though about that but when I checked pics of the board , this mosfet is clearly different from the other 3.
          check picture
