Acer aspire 6920g - no video on vga or screen

i recently replaced the motherboard in the unit and then tried to start it up with a new lcd screen as well.
when it booted it showed the acer logo at the start and then got to the login screen.
this was extremely bright and a bit pink.
when i then rebooted the laptop twice the second time the video disappeared totally.
i tried to hook up an external monitor then to see if the vga would work but it didn't.
any ideas out there what could be the problem?

i've a feeling the graphics card to be the problem inside the unit.

6920g has a tokin capacitor on the bely .
Not to mention it got a mxm video card nvidia 9500 gt or ati video.
        You should start from there.
You can find everything on the forum about tokin capacitors and physical dedicated video cards for Acer.
Just cook it! It's already broken.

well, it wouldn't start so i fried it in the oven with some southern fried chicken and voila it's working.
