HP OMEN Laptop 15-en1013dx board DAG3EFMBEE0 REV:E does not POST

I have a HP OMEN 15 laptop from which it looked like it had corrupt bios after an overnight windows update.

Model Number: HP OMEN Laptop 15-en1013dx
    Product Number: 38H98UA
    Board Number: DAG3EFMBEE0 REV:E

The behavior before i resoldered a newly flashed GD25LQ128D was that when i pressed the power button, the led lit up for around 2-5 seconds and then turned off completely, no POST.

Now after i found the correct bios (i assume: HP SUPPORT URL) and reflashed a new chip with it. the power led stays on and both fans are spinning, but unfortunately still no POST. No caps lock LED or anything...

I tried to swap the RAM sticks, unplugged the battery and pressed the power button for 1-2 minutes.

I was wondering what the next step could be and where i should look? Could someone help me with this please.

Try with another bios dump (I see some soldering on the bios that needs redoing, use some flux) I recommend you post the original bios dump in the BIOS section and ask if someone will rebuild it for you

Do you think they would be able to help me without original dump, unfortunately the original chip was unreadable. I never go the dump out of it.

Yes as in my programmer could not read it out, both ob the mainboard and desoldered and resoldered on SOIC-8 pinout boarf, i have several versions CH341a programmers, i made sure it was set to 1,8V and i can read out the one that is soldered to the mainboard, but i could not do that with the original one. I don't have the chip anymore either.

for software i used NeoProgrammer V2.2.0.10

When you are sure that no one has erase and reprogram the bios chip it's very important to read it and save the original bios. In some system it will help a lot if a dump don't work properly. If you at the first attemp don't read it with success , use another chip to make a try with a dump because it's very rare that a bios chip is faulty

Don't go beyond the BIOS. Search the BIOS request forum if it has been requested before, comb through the thread to be sure someone has confirmed the BIOS firmware to be good. then write it on the chip.

You should be good with that.

But if no one has make a request before, make a request in a new thread under the BIOS request forum

                I've made a request over there. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...-does-not-post

Tried to flash the dump from a working board and swapping the RAM with yet another stick, but still no POST. It might not be BIOS related after all.

I can try to measure out some coils, but if someone could help me with that, it would be great.

I do not have a thermal camera to find the hotspots on the mainboard, although the coil that is indicated with a red circle gets smoking hot and the resistance on that one 11Ω

That coil is part of the charging circuit. so it is normal for it to be very hot as the battery is charging. You should see a voltage difference when you take measurements on both sides of the coil.

it will stop heating up when the battery is unplugged.

only one fan is spinning. the two should spin simultaneously. so there is a wrong communication.

You need to look for exact working MOBO, remove the chip, and try it on yours; if not possible, fetch the name of the BIOS chip and flash CONFIRMED firmware. flash off-board.
